Four Weeks Down

Baby Walter is 4 weeks old today! He is growing so fast I can't believe it. He's just like his daddy, all arms and legs. I am enjoying having a sweet little newborn around again. This time around is so precious knowing it is the last baby (knock on wood, very hard). Also, realizing how quickly this time passes and how temporary the difficulty of a newborn is, I am able to enjoy it more.

Since we brought Walter home, we celebrated both Walt and Isabella's birthdays. Izzy got her first tricycle and is very excited to ride although right now she really can only peddle backwards. She puts her feet on the pedals and says to herself, "push, push" and does get one good forward pedal in, but then gets stuck and goes backwards again. It's very cute watching her learn.

Walt took a week off from work to spend time with Izzy and help me around the house with the baby. We took several family hiking trips. Izzy's just like us, she loves to be outside and explore. Walt took this photo of her standing on the bridge watching the water below. She looks so grown up to me!

Of course, the big question everyone keeps asking is how does Isabella feel about her new baby? She absolutely loves him. She gives him lots of kisses and hugs. However, we can't take our eyes off of her for a second around the baby. She picked him up and dropped him already! He was in his swing and I was standing right next to her, but had my back turned talking to Walt and when I looked down to my horror she was picking him up. I screamed and she dropped him. I had nightmares for days, but baby's are tough and he survived unscathed. Wish I could say the same for my anxiety problems.

Look at that face. See why I'm a nervous wreck?

Here's a few photos of her in what I've been assured is "normal childhood behavior". It's true what they say about them reverting back to babyhood. Of course, she didn't have far to go being only 2 and all. Notice she's sitting in the baby's car seat taking a pacifier, which she herself never took. Suddenly, she has to have a "passe" as she calls it.

We've also found every room and every toy in our house covered in diaper cream or powder. Here's a couple of pictures of an incident involving Pooh Bear...

She has a new fascination with pockets, or as she says..."mockets". I thought this was such a cute photo of Izzy and Grandaddy showing off their mockets.
